Whether you’re with us for a preventive cleaning, a same-day crown, Invisalign treatments, or a more complex procedure, we’re proud to accommodate most patient needs under one roof. Get To Know Dr. Madison Kurz

Dr. Kurz was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up living abroad. She completed her undergraduate studies in Physiology and Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. Afterward, Dr. Kurz attended Dental School at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Kurz is affiliated with the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, the Northern Arizona Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, and volunteers with Arizona Mission of Mercy. She has pursued continuing education in full mouth reconstruction, Invisalign, CEREC, and injectable facial esthetics.

While Dr. Kurz enjoys all aspects of dentistry, she has a special affinity for cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign. She enjoys getting to know and learning new things from her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking, running, biking, and camping.

Get To Know Dr. Kevin Chittenden

Dr. Kevin is originally from Snohomish, Washington. He attended Washington State University and earned a degree in Zoology. He then earned his dental degree from Roseman University in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is affiliated with the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry and Northern Arizona Dental Association. Dr. Kevin is also a volunteer at the local Poore Medical Clinic and Arizona Mission of Mercy. Dr. Kevin has pursued advanced education in sleep appliances, implant placement, root canal therapy, and guided surgery.

Dr. Kevin enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special affinity for oral surgery and implants. He enjoys talking to his patients about their favorite sports or outdoor adventures. While he grew up playing a variety of different sports, Dr. Kevin still plays tennis and soccer regularly. He joined the rowing team when attending Washington State University and raced in the top boat achieving 6th in the nation. Around Flagstaff, you can often find him running a disc-golf course, playing pickleball, or skiing the slopes.

What to Expect

We recognize that seeing a new dentist may come with a bit of anxiety for some people. That’s why we prioritize your comfort at every turn, and look forward to creating strong relationships with our patients that go beyond the dental transaction. When you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk team. Next, you’ll head back to an exam room with one of our registered dental hygienists, who will take necessary x-rays and perform a dental cleaning. When the doctor comes in, he or she will give you a thorough exam and address your concerns in an informative manner, helping you understand the best path forward for a healthy, beautiful smile.

Pairing the comforts of home with state of the art technology, we’re able to deliver a patient experience that’s more comfortable and convenient than the rest. Cozy up to our coffee station while you wait, or enjoy warm towels during your services for a spa-like feeling. During your visits we can use the latest dental technology for everything from same-day crown creation to mess-free impressions. We also have gentle sedation options for patients who deal with dental anxiety.

Cedar Avenue Family Dentistry pairs modern technology with friendly service to provide you with a comfortable, efficient experience. We know that restorations can be a long process but with CAD/CAM technology, we are able to restore your teeth more accurately and quickly, saving you time and money. In fact, our CEREC machine, allows us to give you customized same-day crowns so you can quickly get your smile back. We also utilize CBCT imaging tools and intraoral scanners to get a comprehensive, accurate look at your teeth and gums without messy impressions. We know that going to the dentist can be tedious, but our modern technology will give you an overall better experience.

Both Dr. Kurz and Dr. Kevin volunteer their services to Poore Medical Clinic and Northern Arizona Mission of Mercy, where underserved communities can receive dental care free of charge.
